World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM)

The World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM) took place in Toronto during the first week of July. Once again it highlighted the awareness on global threats including natural, accidental, and intentional hazards. This year’s conference was especially timely considering the current events in the U.K. such as the terrorist attack and devastating floods currently being experienced. A conference report prepared for the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association presents an overview of the WCDM and how many concepts and presentations relate to critical infrastructure, specifically in the Water Sector.
