Crude oil pipeline leak into Alberta’s Red Deer River: Update

Further to Public Safety Canada Daily Infrastructure Report DIR08-117, the Calgary Herald reported that the Pembina pipeline leak might have spilled 60 percent more oil into the water than first thought, according to Alberta Environment. Pembina, however, indicated that it is standing by its original estimates. The company has started the cleanup and is paying for the potable water being trucked in for the area.
