GENEVA, April 29 (Reuters) - World Health Organization director-general Dr. Margaret Chan raised the pandemic threat awareness level to 5 out of 6 on Wednesday, meaning the world is at imminent risk of a pandemic from H1N1 swine flu.

Two new documents have been added to the member’s area that may assisst member’s in planning for / responding to a pandemic.  One of the documents gives some suggestions for a move to phase 4 (which we are now in).

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health has confirmed two cases of swine flu in Alberta. One case is in Calgary and the other is in northern Alberta. Both victims are men who recently returned from Mexico.
